Act I, Scene 2 Summary

The setting is the cramped bedroom that Kaye will be sharing with Jean and Terry. It is a month later and Kaye has settled in.

Judith knocks on the door. She's looking for Terry but she's not back yet. Judith tells Kaye that even though she's been there a month, she knows nothing about her. Doesn't she have a beau? Kaye doesn't answer her. She tells her she hasn't found a job yet. Judith tries to encourage her. She notices that Kaye's nice gold mirror set is gone. Kaye doesn't have any parents that she is supporting. Terry enters and announces that after four performances, her show has closed. Judith tells Terry that she'll get another job because her performance got good notices.
