Summary

Chapter 39 begins with Iris making her Bluetooth speaker with Bennie’s help. They go down to the pool to test it out “in deeper water” once it is constructed (246). After confirming it works, Iris records a bit of her own voice to add to the song (248).

At the start of chapter 40, Grandma and Iris savor their last night on the cruise by “standing out on deck,” and Iris observes the stars and tries to find Jupiter in the sky (249).
