Summary

Chapter 16

Sia knows she can’t do anything else to try to find Carol tonight. She and Kyle head back toward the bakery. Kyle says he can’t imagine Sia’s nightmare during her time on the streets. Sia says Carol took care of her. Kyle imagines that’s why Sia wants to find Carol now. Sia says that’s only part of the reason. She needs Carol’s wisdom as she deals with problems in her life. Kyle doesn’t understand. He cites Sia’s lavish home, famous parents, and social life as being perfect. Under Sia’s questioning, Kyle says his own life is good, but it doesn’t compare to Sia’s. He says he is the middle of five children. Sia admits she is spoiled, and they talk about their lives, school, and family. Back at the bakery, Kyle...
