Woman's House

In the story "None of That," the house owned by the neighborhood woman is the primary setting. One night when the narrator and her mother get caught in the mud of an unpaved neighborhood, the narrator's mother manages to sneak into a neighborhood woman's house after asking her for a glass of water while waiting for the ambulance. When the narrator discovers her mother inside, she grows frustrated. Throughout the evening, the mother moves from room to room, looking through and rearranging the woman's belongings.
