Section 7: Chapters 15-17 Summary

In Chapter 15, the Ardmagar Comonot finally arrives, but during his speeches, Seraphina is bombarded with Linn's memories of Comonot's lessons against human emotions. Trying to fight her emotions, she returns home to rid herself of her feelings, but "one cannot fly in two directions at once. I cannot perch among those who think that I am broken... Love is not a disease" (page 202). Lucian is concerned as Seraphina revives, but he tells her that his search for information on the rogue dragon was fruitless. Since she hates how normal she feels with Lucian, Seraphina considers showing him her scales to eliminate the fear of him discovering her secret.
