Chapter Fifteen and Sixteen Summary

It is a holiday in Masagua and drunken celebrations are being held in the streets. Tomlinson is studying stone structures and calendar glyphs, fully immersed in his research.

Ford returns to his hotel and recommends that Tomlinson do the same thing. However, Tomlinson says he can't sleep yet and will go have a beer. At 2:35am, someone is banging loudly on his door and Ford springs out of bed. He realizes that Tomlinson is not in the room at the same time that Colonel Suarez barges into his room. Attacking Ford, he takes him away, telling him that now they will figure out why he and his friend want to speak with General Zacul.
