Summary

In Part V, “Earth,” Sam starts spending most of her time at Justin’s. Being with him at his house feels like “time traveling” (245). She is so consumed by their relationship, she hardly eats when they are together. They talk about their lives and families. He explains more of what happened with his mom Beth. Meanwhile, Courtney worries Sam’s relationship will make her give up on school.

In Chapter 51, Sam is nervous for her first day of classes. The night before, she and Justin talk about when they first met. In the morning, Sam talks to Ann before leaving.

In Chapter 52, Sam attends her first classes. That evening, she starts remembering things about Mitchell.
