Jack St. Bride returns to the diner to begin work as a dishwasher. While cleaning in the diner, Jack finds one table with a plate of untouched food on it. He takes some fries and eats them, but Addie comes up and tells him not to eat 'her' meal. Jack asks who 'her' is, but Addie walks away. Thomas McAfee is a freshman in high school. He is in love with Chelsea Abrams, one of Gillian Duncan's friends. Detective Charlie Saxton wants to find out more about Jack, but when he finds out he must wait a few days to get information, he decides to keep it to himself for a few weeks.
