Summary

Back at Sylvia's house, she goes to the front door, which is unlocked, but nobody is there. She keeps hearing strange noises, so she goes to the back door. Clark startles her by announcing "It's me," as he presses against the glass of the back door (18). Sylvia is uncomfortable. Clark hands her a bag, which is full of the clothes she had given to Carla. Sylvia asks where Carla is, and Clark tells her she is at home "where she belongs" (19). He explains that Carla is tired after her "little adventure" and asks Sylvia if she thought he'd murdered her (19). Sylvia tells Clark she was just surprised to hear Carla came back, and that she had helped Carla because she seemed in distress.
