Chapter 21, Zincoshine- Chapter 22, We Do the Math Summary and Analysis

In chapter twenty-one, the rocket boys gather at Cape Coalwood to test the first of their zinc-sulfur rockets. The machinists, along with Reverend Richard and a least 100 Coalwood residents, gather. The Reverend tells him he dreamt of Sonny on the moon. Auk XXII detonates on the launch pad. The new propellant is bad. The company decides to sell the houses, and people chant "Strike!". Sonny decides the zinc-sulfur powder mix is too loose. A binding agent worked for rocket candy, so the boys decide to try a new one... alcohol. The boys get moonshine for their rockets and test it. Tag drives them each home. Sonny isn't too drunk or sick to remember how to manipulate his mother. He tells her how sorry he is. She doesn't punish him...
