Summary

Parker visits with Clint and is amazed to see how a man who stood at six foot three inches and weighed 215 pounds has withered away from cancer. Now, Clint is just "bones covered in dull, translucent skin, a shell of the man he'd once been" (204). Parker wants to discuss the similarities between the two River Body cases, but Clint assumes that Parker is there for Becca. Clint will only say his daughter's name and that he has nothing to say to Parker. Embarrassed, Parker leaves and gets a call from Rick while driving. Rick tells him Caff had a girlfriend named Candy. Parker knows who she is, and, due to his silence, Rick guesses that Parker already knows she is related to John and that John lives in his father's house.
