Summary

In Chapter 1, White Opal: Hope, Desire, Fidelity, Benedict Stone heads to work at his shop, Stone Jewelry, in the town of Noon Sun, England. Benedict’s wife, Estelle, has left him six weeks before. Estelle is staying at her friend Veronica’s apartment while Veronica is away working in America. Good food from local café and bakery, Bake My Day, makes Benedict temporarily forget this. Benedict arrives at his shop and throws himself into work. He is an average, ordinary kind of guy whose only deviation from the norm is a pair of dark red shoes, received due to an incorrect online order. Benedict’s assistant, Cecil, dresses flamboyantly and carries around his pet white Persian cat, Lord Puss.
