Summary

The third story is called “Ahegao: Or the Ballad of Sexual Repression”. It tells the story of Kant, a young Thai American man. The story opens with Kant sending a mass email to his family, friends, and colleagues coming out as gay. He is met with broad support and approval somewhat to his disappointment because it makes the experience underwhelming. Kant feels like there is a bigger reason that people in his life would not approve of him, something that he has never revealed to anyone: his tendency towards violent and sadistic sexual fantasies. He fears that the facts of his existence (his physical size, his lack of confidence, his virginity) mean it will be impossible to ever fulfill his sexual fantasy of dominating other men.
