Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the location for Niloo in the present time. Amsterdam is the setting for the chapters “The Other Dr. Hamidi”, “Erotic Republic”, “The Hospitality of the Dutch”, “An Addict in Dam Square”, “Family Formations Among Early Primates”, “Just Like Your Baba”, and “Village Building” with the timeline spanning from August 2009 - October 2009. All of these chapters are told from her third person perspective as opposed to the visit chapters that are told from her first person perspective with the exception of “Village Building” which is told from Baba’s third person perspective. Niloo lives in Amsterdam with Gui, her husband, in one apartment while they work on finishing and re-furnishing another apartment.
