Summary

The next poem is titled “Another Surprise.” Reha, Daddy, and Prema Auntie go directly to the hospital where Reha finds Amma awake and doing better. Reha rushes to hug her. She hopes everything really will be all right.

In “My Mother's Sister,” Reha sees the love between Amma and Prema Auntie. By the end of the visit, Reha feels Amma looks better. Reha lists the differences between Amma and Prema Auntie, including that Amma's hair is not as curly and is longer. She notes that Prema Auntie has Amma's energy. She insists on shopping immediately, then begins to cook. Reha, Daddy, and Prema Auntie eat together, savoring the comfort food.

The next poem is “Roommates.” Prema Auntie shares Reha's bed. In her sleep the first night, Prema Auntie takes Reha's hand. Reha sleeps better than she has in weeks.
