Rivera drives Jenny and Robert home together. He decides he cannot reveal what happened to the police department. Soon he is working at the Seven-Eleven—undercover on the track of robbers. He makes the bust and gets a promotion to lieutenant. Gian Hen Gian turns Effrom's body to stone, and they leave him as a monument in the cave. Amanda and Travis go off together, and Amanda tells Travis that because of their experiences, she knows Effrom is living on in an afterlife. Nailsworth never knows what happened to Roxanne, and in his grief, he loses all his extra fat and ends up marrying a girl who also loves computers.
