Chapters 10-11 and Olivia Summary

Chapter 10. Lynley and Havers have a meeting with Detective Constable Winston Nkata, who has checked on Hugh Patten's alibi. The alibi appears solid. Lynley then arranges for Nkata to head a group of officers to watch the Fleming house and the barge in Little Venice, and to canvass the neighborhood where Mrs. Whitelaw lives.

Lynley and Havers go to the home of Guy Mollison to interview him about Kenneth Fleming. At first Mollison seems intent on forcing them to remain in the hallway, out of respect for his pregnant wife, but Lynley encourages him to invite them inside. Inside, they learn that Kenneth and Mollison had a fight one night while out drinking that ended with a physical encounter. However, Mollison called Kenneth and apologized the night he died.
