Summary

In Chapter 11, Aysel and Z watch as the students and teachers gather outside after school. Charley finishes a speech about protecting Salem even if they do not have magic. As the students leave, Aysel says they should go to the rally to remove suspicion. Z feels more pain as they move but keeps it to themselves. The two take the bus and Aysel tries to hold Z’s hand, but Z pulls away as they feel dry next to Aysel’s living skin. They reach downtown which is filled with people especially in front of the courthouse. They overhear college students talking about looser gun regulations and how werewolves are practically extinct in Texas. Aysel pulls Z to a tent and they get lost for a moment until Aysel returns with a t-shirt about monsters wanting to destroy humanity.
