Summary

The night after Karen yells at Jacob, she gets an overwhelming urge to speak to her father. She calls the care home at two in the morning, and Olga answers her. Karen asks if her father is sleeping. Olga says no and asks if she wants to speak to him. Karen can hear Olga talking to her father, telling him that she has called. She tells her father that she yelled at Jacob and almost hurt him. She hears the occasional gurgle from her father and decides that he is following the conversation. She then tells him that she has cancer and is dying. She asks him to please stay alive for Allison because she has done so much for Karen, and Karen does not want to think of her as being alone. There is silence on the line but Olga tells Karen...
