Summary

Nathan picks up the boys and Gus at the police station after they were questioned about the dead man. Frank didn’t mention the Indian. Nathan tells the boy the first dead man he ever saw outside a casket was on the battlefield, a young German soldier. Nathan never got used to it. He tells the boys if they need to talk to him about seeing the dead man he’s there for them. Ariel is pretty but was born with a harelip which had been surgically corrected when she was a baby.
