Summary

Tanya tries to tell her mother about Ratty but struggles to remember specific details. Her mother says that is common for liars, hurting Tanya. She goes to her room and finds a nail and some salt she does not remember having and throws them away. In the middle of the night three of her house fairies, Raven, Gredin, and Feathercap, arrive and demand that she not speak to Ratty about them because she is learning too much They leave and Tanya fears future punishment.
