Restraining Order

The restraining order is a symbol of fear. When Jake is released from jail pending his new trial, Addy has Eli draw up a restraining order against Jake because she is so afraid that Jake will try to hurt her.

Envelope

The envelope is a symbol of positivity. Eli has accidentally included the envelope containing the gender of the baby he and Ashton are expecting with Addy’s paperwork for the restraining order. Because Eli and Ashton have decided not to learn the gender in advance, Addy asks if she can have the envelope. She considers it a bit of positivity in what is otherwise a terrible time in her life.
