Summary

Christ's birth is depicted: the middle of winter, with a heavenly child in a manger. All of nature bows to him, and the white snow serves as a veil of innocence in order to feel able to address the sacred Christ. Throughout the entire world, there is no war or conflict, and everyone is at peace in anticipation of Christ's birth. Even the ocean, the birds, and the stars are still. The sun is ashamed to appear because Christ is such a greater sun than he is. Shepherds sit and talk, unaware that their god has come. However, soon there is mystical, sweet music that shows them all peace they have never known before.
