Summary

The narrative in Chapter 6 is from the perspective of Carmen, Miami, 2016. Carmen’s preparations for Thanksgiving dinner are interrupted by a scream from one of her neighbor’s houses. Carmen finds blood on her neighbor’s driveway. Carmen reveals she cut ties with Jeanette until she could prove her sobriety and that this Thanksgiving will be their first together in several years.
