Summary

In Chapter 33, a woman named Merthe arrives to escort Ven to Bljaina. During the journey, she talks about Martyza Eztok, a place riddled with mining tunnels that held hidden documents from the Burning Age. When they arrive at an island, Ven has a brief encounter with Georg who has a pronounced limp and uses a cane.

In Chapter 34, Ven sees Pav involved in morning prayers. Yue reveals that Georg demanded Ven's presence before joining the peace talks. Krima is annoyed and Yue tries to be reassuring. Yue takes Ven to the building where Georg and his men are. Ven notes that they all wear similar clothing and carry guns, symbols of their unity as members of the Brotherhood.
