“Not That Kind of Girl” is the memoir of author Lena Dunham. From her childhood Lena had a difficult time feeling that she fit in. She was average-sized until after she started her period which was between eighth grade and her first year of high school. She began to steadily gain weight, and with her love of food she was soon overweight, something that she has struggled with ever since.

As a young teenager, it doesn’t take much to feel ugly or like a misfit. Lena already had already felt like that for years.
