Chapters 23-29 Summary

Josh's mother calls him and asks that he send a canister of the retrovirus to New York in order to help her cousin, Mrs. Levine. Josh does not want to do this, but promises his mother he will. While Josh is still on the phone with his mother, Brad Gordon is arrested for aggravated assault and rape of a minor. Brad sits in a cell for several hours waiting for his lawyer to show up. Brad knows his uncle will send an expensive lawyer and is not disappointed. The lawyer tells Brad that the girl whom he left the soccer game with claims he brutally raped her and has medical evidence to back her up. Brad swears he never touched the girl, that they only made out and she chickened out. The lawyer does not believe him, but the young man...
