Cancun, Mexico

Andrew takes Lindsey and Sophie to Cancun, Mexico after he tried to choke Lindsey to death when she tried to leave him the first time. It is while they are in Cancun that Andrew accuses Lindsey of flirting with one of the waiters at the resort. He takes Sophie while Lindsey is in the restroom, making her think that Sophie has drowned.

Dogwood Bay

Dogwood Bay is the place to which Lindsey and Sophie move after Andrew is put in jail. The majority of the action of the novel, including the meetings between Andrew and Sophie as well as the poisoning of Agnus, take place in this town.
