Summary

One day, the most senior doctor at the hospital calls Korede into his office and tells her that she has been promoted to head nurse. Korede is honored and excited by this promotion. Later in the day, Korede is shocked to learn that Muhtar has awoken from his coma. The narrative briefly flashes back to the first time Ayoola killed someone. Ayoola was 17 years old at the time, and the man she killed was her boyfriend at the time. Korede was shocked and terrified, but she helped Ayoola secretly dispose of the body.
