Chapters 14-17 Summary

In Chapter 14, Jamie returns home from school to find his father searching through the boxes in the cellar that contain Rose's things. Jamie's father then takes a picture with Rose's handprint on it with him to bed and falls into a drink induced stupor. The next day an inspector comes and watches the class as the teacher teaches. The students are assigned to make a reproduction of the stable scene at Jesus's birth. Sunya wants to make a rhino, but the teacher will not let her. Later, when the projects come out of the oven, they discover someone has placed horns on all of Daniel's characters and animals. Jamie knows that Sunya did it and he thanks her.

In Chapter 15, when Jamie gets home from school, he discovers a message on the answering machine saying that Jas has not been going...
