Summary

In Chapter 21 entitled "Whiteness without Supremacy," Menakem discusses the need for a new white culture that is not based on white-body supremacy. In order to achieve this goal, white Americans will have to acknowledge the trauma of white-body supremacy, move through clean pain, and grow up. Menakem cautions white Americans that he cannot chart this course for them (and asking for such a blueprint is evidence of white fragility).
