Summary

Chapter 11: Philip and Rachel prepared to go to church together for the first time. Philip warned Rachel that everyone would come to church just to see her. Rachel insisted on keeping her veil over her face, but Philip told her she had to let the people see her face.

Philip remembered he had forgotten to visit Louise the day before as he had promised. Rachel said that Louise would be mad, as any woman would. Philip told her that Louise was not a woman, but a girl. He would make it right by sitting with her at dinner and complimenting her on arranging the flowers for Rachel’s rooms.
