Summary

In Chapter 8, Quiara recalls a memory from when she was ten years old. She went on a road trip to Six Flags (an amusement park) with several of her older cousins: Cuca, Joe, Mary Lou, Flor, and Nuchi. Quiara was always in awe of these older cousins, and they were consistently kind and loving towards her. Unfortunately, when they arrived at the park, Quiara felt ill and fatigued. She slept in the car while her cousins spent time in the amusement park. Later, Quiara found blood in her underwear and realized that she had begun to have her first period. Her cousins remained supportive and comforting as Quiara faced this transitional moment.
