Chapters 26 through 30 Summary

Miles installs new voice synthesis and recognition software on Harper's computer. Miles then asks for details about Lenz's plan. Harper says that he doesn't believe Lenz can adequately pretend to be a woman but Miles doesn't share that view. Miles asks Harper if he's certain of every person he's talking to on EROS. He asks, for example, about Eleanor Rigby and Harper becomes immediately defensive. He says that he tries to anticipate what Miles is going to say about Eleanor but isn't prepared when Miles says that she doesn't have a crippled sister and isn't a body double, but is herself the cripple.

Miles says that he wants Harper to pretend to be a woman in an attempt to get close to the killer. He points out that many young women have confided in Harper through the years as his reasoning...
