Kafuku

Kafuku is the main character of "Drive My Car." He is a stage actor. When he hires a new female driver to transport him to and from the stage, he begins to reminisce about his wife who died of uterine cancer. His wife slept with four other men, and although Kafuku knew, he never confronted her about the affairs. After she died, he befriended one of them in an attempt to uncover her motives.

Kafuku became an actor when he was young and he loves his craft because he enjoys transforming into other people. While his career never flourished, he is well respected and talented. He is a character actor who revels in taking on strange personalities. He is not handsome enough to be a leading man.

When the story begins he is afraid to let a woman drive his car because he does not trust women drivers...
