Rebecca Solnit

Rebecca Solnit is a writer, feminist, activist and art critic. She is the author of a dozen books for which she has won critical acclaim and national literary awards. When she attended a party of people quite a bit older than her and her friend, they encountered a man who boasted about an important book that was just published. When the man learned that Rebecca was the author, he turned pale and walked away without a word. Rebecca had encountered this same reaction many times in her writing career.
