Summary

Shalini Malla, founder of an investigative journalism magazine called Fast Forward meets with a Nepali government minister who is seeking the retraction of an article. The article was pertaining to a man who had been imprisoned and executed by the government. The minister insists the man was killed by terrorists, but Shalini refuses to issue a retraction. Afterwards, Shalini meets with her two old college friends, Alina and Priya, at a bar. Shalini worries because Alina has been drinking excessively since her husband left her.

The next day, Shalini is informed that Fast Forward will be facing a tax audit. She tells her staff, including a journalist named Chitra who wrote the article that offended the government, not to come in the next day.
