Chapters 3-5 Summary

In Chapter 3, JoLayne gets a visit from the mayor of Grange who hopes that JoLayne will speak kindly of Grange when the reporter from The Register arrives. JoLayne balks at the idea of speaking to a reporter because she prefers to hang on to her privacy. In Miami, Chub tries to talk Bode into cashing in their ticket immediately but Bode refuses. Instead, Bode hides the ticket in a condom package and insists that he and Chub go to Grange to find the other ticket. Back in Grange, Krome arrives at the bed and breakfast and immediately heads over to JoLayne Lucks' house. Krome finds JoLayne in the bathtub when he arrives. JoLayne has a gun and forces Krome into the bathtub after she climbs out. While Krome is vulnerable and lying in the tub, JoLayne speaks to him, but refuses...
