Marie finally gets work in the fourth restaurant in which she interviews – The Olive Garden. She’d applied at nine more – thirteen in total. Marie is two weeks from turning seventeen years of age, but lies to the people she works with, adding a year to the total.

Marie marries her husband when she is just seventeen after her father hits her for the very first time.
