Summary

Joseph, Clara, and Sandy attend Lyle’s funeral. A union man approaches Joseph and claims that the attack on Lyle was not organized or endorsed by the union. The man implies that the attack may actually have been perpetrated by corporate operatives posing as union men in order to make the union look bad. Police arrive at the funeral and bring Joseph, Clara, and Sandy to a local police station for questioning. While the police question Joseph about his past, Joseph looks out the window and sees Clara talking to a man. This man is likely Thomas Crapo. The police question Joseph in relation to Lyle’s death. When they release Joseph, Clara has left with Crapo. Joseph realizes that the attack on Lyle must have been organized by Thomas Crapo to make the union look bad before their big planned workers’ strike. The...
