What is Hough's attitude toward the U.S. Air Force?

Hough's attitude toward the U.S. Air Force is likely a controversial one, as she condemns it for being similar to the Children of God cult (and all cults, for that matter). Because of her experience as a queer woman during the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, Hough had to serve her country while keeping her identity a secret. As such, she never felt as though she truly belonged. Looking in from the outside, she noticed how the U.S. military uses similar indoctrination tactics as the cult in which she grew up. Hough lambasts the Air Force for these manipulation tactics and suggests that because she was a queer woman, they would not trust or protect her.
