Summary

In Chapter 27, Jonathan paid someone “to drive the Purple Pig home” (217). They took a flight back. On the plane, Anna watched Grace eat, skeptical of her illness. When she asked Jonathan how he had found them, he said he had used credit card statements. Anna gave Grace a note in Annic calling her a liar (218).

Anna stayed in her room for days. Jonathan left food and flowers outside, but she only took the flowers. One day, Anna came out to say a man was watching her outside. Jonathan said it was a traffic guard. He started talking about bringing Anna to a doctor if she did not improve. Then one day, she emerged, seeming better. It was “the night before she disappeared” (220).
