Tommy is a quiet young man with a motorbike. He likes taking his girlfriend Suzy out on rides, but one day he gets her pregnant. Suzy's father, an alcoholic, does not notice his daughter is pregnant until she is in hospital. His initial anger subsides and before long, he is telling everyone about his grandson and arranging a big party.

Spook frequents Greeks where he often meets Tommy drinking coffee. Spook is obsessed with motorbikes and nothing gives him greater pleasure then when Tommy takes him out for a ride. Spook dreams of owning his own bike and is fond of telling the Greek regulars that they have cannot understand what it is like to want something so much.
