Summary

Chapter 6 shifts focus back to Seema. Seema has begun to struggle with raising Shiva on her own. In addition, she has begun to experience some difficulties with Luis; it seems to her that Luis is less interested in her as a person than he is in hearing about the details of Seema and Barry’s marriage. Seema becomes desperate to maintain Luis’ interest in her. Seema introduces Luis to Mina, and although Luis and Mina spend most of the meeting arguing, Mina later says to Seema that she approves of Luis. The next day, Julianna asks Seema if they can arrange a play date between their sons. Seema reluctantly agrees.
