Summary
Killing Stella is told from the perspective of an unstable housewife named Anna. She expresses her wish to write about everything that has happened and hopes to be able to do so during the two days that her husband Richard is away with their two children, Annette and Wolfgang. She is distracted from her task by the sound of a baby bird that has been abandoned in its nest. Anna’s narration reveals she is of a nervous disposition and only feels safe in her room looking out of the window into the garden.
Anna attempts to move her attention away from the baby bird because she had intended to write about a 19-year-old woman named Stella. She claims she wants to write about Stella before she forgets her. She acknowledges that she will have to forget her if she wants to carry...
