Part 50 Summary

Part 50 - The spoiled and unmarried virgin Marjetta eats a cranberry and becomes pregnant. When the time comes for Marjetta to have her baby, her parents turn her out of the house for having loose morals. Marjatta calls on the Creator for help. He guides her to a stable where she gives birth to a little boy. She cares for it and nurtures him until one day he accidentally falls off her lap and disappears. She searches for him for days, and finally finds him in a swamp. She then takes him to an Old Man to be baptized, but the Old Man tells her he won't do it until the boy has been tested and judged. Vainamoinen says because he was born from a berry he should be left on the ground to return to the earth the way a berry would...
