Summary

In “Christian,” Christian puts Lily’s bloody clothes in a bag so he can dispose of them. They both take the following day off work. In Langley Woods, Lily locates the place where Jake attacked her. Christian hopes to find the rock as well as Lily’s other earring, pieces of evidence that could tie her to what happened to Jake. Lily is worried they will find Jake’s body.

When Lily and Christian reach the spot, there is a large patch of grass, stained by blood. Christian curses at how much blood there appears to be. A smeared trail leads deeper into the woods. Lily is telling Christian exactly what Jake did when they are scared by a noise from deep inside the woods. It turns out to be a chipmunk.
