Summary

The end of summer arrives, and Tom and Erin prepare to leave to return to school. Erin has transferred to Rutgers to be with Tom. Devin is sad to see his friends go but feels that he has made the right decision in choosing to stay at Joyland throughout the winter. Tom went on ahead to Wilmington while Erin stayed to say goodbye to Devin. Erin tells Devin that Tom worries about him. Tom continues to refuse to discuss what happened in Horror House.

Devin drives Erin to the Wilmington bus station where they say goodbye and promise to keep in touch.
