Gifted and Talented and Suspended Summary

Joey has a substitute teacher in "Gifted and Talented," and he sneaks out with the gifted children to see a presentation in the auditorium. He sits behind the stage and listens as Mrs. Cole, a gifted teacher, talks about special people doing special things for others. Joey knows he is not part of the talented and gifted class, but also feels Cole is talking to him directly, in that he is special. He feels he can help make the world a better place. After the presentation, Joey goes to the nurse for her to wrap his ankle, and tells her about what he has heard, knowing she will not get him into trouble.
