Chapter 14 Summary

Eve times her entrance to Cop Central so that she is exactly on time for her interview with Paul Redford, but manages to bypass her desk where she is certain a message from Commander Whitney has summoned her to his office. By avoiding her desk she can, with a clear conscience, state that she did not receive the message. Eve is convinced that Paul Redford is somehow involved and his payments of three hundred thousand dollars to Pandora are suspicious. She was either blackmailing him or he was paying her for something. Eve interrogates Redford, straightforward at first, then she bounces from topic to topic, from whether he has Pandora's security code to why he was paying so much money to Pandora. Initially his demeanor is calm and confident, but as the interrogation continues, Eve can see signs that she is making Redford...
